No idea tbh. I got it on PC and am using a PS4 controller, so it shouldn't be that bad. I could try a different one.
I mean if MK11 was as fast as MK1 yet had the same timing for specials/EX moves I'm sure it would be causing the same problem as you describe now.
I personally think people need to mess with the input settings in the options, to feel whats best for them, and then just practice and get use to the timing of things. People expect things to come to them without working for it, and imo if I can do it (a casual FG player ) then anyone who puts their mind to it can as well.
I never had this issue with MK11 or X and I used the same controllers as before. Even with release check off, I think this game is listening for ex inputs in an extremely small window. So small only usb wired device with high frequency can produce inputs that fast.
It was a real pain trying to do some of the combo challenges that required EX moves cos I was pulling off the non EX move instead like 99% of the time.
They might get to whatever the issue is on the day 1 patch, assuming there will be one.
