i will try to explain as good as i can for you!
let's say you have a kick, and it takes 5 frames before the kick hits
Frame data is how we count how fast moves are in fighting games.
For example a jab that starts frame 1 beats a jab that starts frame 2 and so on.
But if you buff the framerate to higher rates it will break that because a frame 5 move wouldn't be a frame 5 move anymore, it would move way too fast and frames are counted in 60's
and some combos would be impossible to pull off at higher framerates
Older streetfighter titles had frame 1 linkers, which means you have to react on the first frame after hitting someone with a move.
Now in 60 fps it works most of the time, but in 120-144+ fps you wouldn't be able to do it
it's much like fast forwarding a movie i guess? even if we get a higher framerate the gameplay wouldn't work because of combo linkers and alot of other gameplay rules in fighting games
Just imagine you have to press everything 10 times as fast as normal basicly
it normally means that if it runs faster tten 60 fps they habe graphical glitchs or the cinematics run too fast and desync.. and its the cutscence is finished but all the audio is wY too far behind it. or worse the actual characters walk through walls and break it anyway
This is the most serious and ignorant thing I think I've read on this board to date.
