The game is in its final state. The Definitive Edition does not include all skins/palettes and gear items which would be valued at an additional $525. You can play to unlock skins/palettes and gear items. There are a total of 2,946 fighter palettes, 178 Kameo palettes, and 1,035 gear items that you can unlock by playing towers, completing challenges, advancing through Kombat League, defeating Floyd, and making purchases with Dragon Krystals in the Premium Shop. Also the last 4 slots in the Premium Shop change daily. There are currently 141 items that rotate, and when the Outworld Menagerie skins drop there will be 144 items. On average about 1 new item appears per day. Right now we're less than halfway into the first cycle. 59 items have been in the daily cycle through 5/21/25.

Now, with all of that being said? Is it a good deal? One month ago Khaos Reigns Bundle was available for $16.83 on Green Man Gaming. Shang Tsung was on sale for $3.99 as of 5/13/25. You could buy 5,900 Dragon Krystals for $39.99. For $60.81 + tax you could have gotten all of the Movie skins and the Tournament skin. You'd also be left over with an additional 1,650 Dragon Krystals while saving $9.18 off the current price of the Definitive Edition.

The Definitive Edition will be worth it when the Steam Summer Sale arrives. If you've waited this long, then you can wait for the Steam Summer Sale.

"The Definitive Edition will be worth it"

A fighting game with zero single player content, nobody playing and abandoned by the devs before it even has bare components like rooms or wifi filter and likely the final patch the game will ever get leaves it so horrendously unbalanced that nobody on the roster can contest homelander. No matter how much someone likes mk, a game whose only content is online multiplayer yet has sh1t online and no players is objectively not worth a penny
