If you want to test your patience, yes. The players seems to know 1 combo, that repeat over and over. Solo Play >>>>>>>>>>>>>
I just play it single player though. Invasions/towers are worth it for me.
Err... That's literally and objectively misleading, pal. MK1 is the least MK-y of all the MK games released under the NRS banner -- it doesn't even look like and MK game, while playing more like a uber-generic incarnation of Injustice (the game it began life as) -- and given how cheap (and better) the previous games were, it's invidious to recommend trashware, like MK1, to fans of the series.
Heck, if the game were indeed so suitable for "MK fans", it would not have been abandoned by WB in a record-setting timeframe! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
