I mean Jesus Ground Hatting Christ did you see the newest MK movie? There's never been a decent writer in the presence of any MK product ever in the history of the world.
Not to mention that the Story mode is the only thing in the entire product that is actually functional.
Everything wrong with this game is NRS's fault. We need to stop passing the blame to WB and SBI or whoever else you want to blame. It's NRS's fault 100%.
That's not entirely true.
There was a decent writer, the first 1995 Mortal Kombat Movie. It was cheesy at times but fun and good action. No Mortal Kombat movie has topped it yet, at least in my opinion. Even the music was amazing.

Many releases such as Suicide Squad have had Sweet Baby credited as part of the writing staff, and these games have been a major disappointment for many players. A Sweet Baby credit is now being thought of like leprosy and an indicator of games to avoid.
The company has become an easy scapegoat for the growing dissatisfaction with major releases. That same dissatisfaction with major studios has led to the success of games like Baldur's Gate III and Palworld (edit: and now Helldivers II) as players are starting to explore other studios who are taking different approaches to their games."
