Free story?

Can someone please tell me, can I play through the entire story mode during the free weekend?

If yes, then why would I buy the game afterwards?

A: The trial version of Mortal Kombat 1 includes access to all online and local multiplayer modes, the first two chapters of the Story mode, Johnny Cage’s Mansion tutorial Mesa in Invasions mode, access to the base roster of playable characters, including Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Smoke, Rain, Li Mei, Tanya, Baraka, Geras, Reptile, Ashrah, General Shao, Sindel, Nitara, and Reiko, and access to all Kameo Fighters, including those unlocked through gameplay. Please note, Shang Tsung, Havik, and characters included in the Kombat Pack are not available to play for free in the trial version of Mortal Kombat 1.

Tbh MK11 is way better, you should play that if you feel like playing MK.

Or the PS2 games.

I mean if you just want the story you can have a more enjoyable time just watching it on YouTube. Id skip it in previous game if it didn't have achievements and a character locked behind it. It is basically a movie after-all. Also story is the minor part of MKs content.
Main focus is the other SP modes and PVP.

The story doesn't look like a minor part to me at all, especially not in the Netherrealm MK games. MK story modes probably have the highest production cost out of any fighting game story modes.

I already watched the story on YouTube because I don't intend to pay money for this game. I thought it would be fun to play through the story for free to learn the characters and then try some online play, but if only 2 story chapters are available on the free weekend then that doesn't worth it for me.
