- Krushing Blows = noobish mechanic and totally unbalanced because of different conditions and opportunities for different characters
- Free Meters = noobish mechanic
- Unbreakable Fatal Blow
- Poke+Special, Poke+Command Grab, cancel into a Command Grab (hello Kotal), poke mashing
- Jacquie, Kabal, Cetrion
- Counter-picking here and there
- Smaller hurtboxes on some characters
- Flawless blocks u2/u3, especially ON HIT when you have hit advantage
The bad about MK1:
- Hardblockables. Lao's Hat should be a mid if you delay it
- Kano, Stryker, Goro
- Maybe Kenshi and JC should be a bit nerfed
I agree because the mk1 lifecycle has not yet reached the final stage but for 4 months of release the retention is still very low compared to the mk11
I also played mk11 for a while and in my opinion mk11 was more creative for moveset and skills, for example the scorpion and rain moveset in mk11 was more diverse than in mk1
when there is no balance in the movesets do you think the creativity matters? for me balance is king in a fighting game and so if you have things like kung lao's teleport and noob saibot being spammed every game online it really doesn't matter how creative they are. without good mechanics fighting games aren't worth playing for me. i quit mk because mk11 was soo bad. the first thing i noticed when i bought mk1 was that kung lao's teleport had been removed and that noob saibot isn't in the game. wonder why that is? i guess i wasn't the only one who realized how bad the design and imbalance was with those moves and also knew that after that disaster the franchise needed a reboot to bring people like me back to the game.
do you think mk1 is also balanced?, there are also many spam ones like scorpion, omni man, JC and if you don't like teleport skills, many have teleport skills too like omniman, motaro, kunglao cameo, scorpion and also noob saibot is rumored to be coming to Kombat Pack 2.
- you can run it on a potato PC
- it's a finished game
- it's really cheap
And of course, many players left MK1 because:
- the good players went to a better game (Tekken 8)
- the scrubs went to a cheesy and cheaper game (MK11)
Still playing MKX to this day.
This is actually not true. MK11 statistically had a worse start. MK11 lost a bigger percentage of playerbase and had lower peaks. MK11 only started winning big after it ended KP1 drip feed. When the Aftermath and KP2 came, it really picked up. Which begs the question, why tf is NRS drip feeding contents again?

Nice.
MK11 dropped off harder than MK1. Facts. MK1 hasn't cratered by comparison.
I was there, I remember it myself, and even I thought this game was a bigger drop than that one. Well done.
