You must have caught some outdated videos. Super and a few others confirmed the game is fixed.... at least so far.
That's good if you're a WB investor, but for players it means ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and actually will lead to more problems in our case.
MK beat SF6 and Tekken 8 in sales on name alone, true, but the pro scene and content creation around the game is dying. Player count is falling off a cliff. Everyone agrees that they want to love MK1, but WB and NRS are making it so hard to.
What WB sees when they see that they've outsold the competition is that they don't need to change their ways. Releasing a subpar product that is still not optimized is fine. Stuffing a Fortnite-esque microtransaction shop into a game priced at $70 USD works. A content-lite game will not be punished in today's market.
What's going to happen is they're going to do the exact same thing with Injustice 3, a much less popular IP, and then be surprised when that game tanks. Our best hope is that MK2's development won't be so far along by the time they learn from their mistakes. Knowing WB though they'll probably just chalk it up to Injustice not being something anybody is interested in, and continue with these terrible business practices. That's very WB now that I think about it.
exactly the hype and the name sold this game, the indicator of how well this is received won't be seen until later and the silence for mk2 could be deafening
They need to fix the SP for the casuals. They need to overhaul Invasions into something not simply better but actually good at a bare minimum, probably bring back Krypt/full Konquest, and do a good Kameo tutorial, that's if they even keep Kameos.
I get that they use the armour to try and teach these strings and string gaps, but it's not fun gameplay shoving random armour up in somebody's face. Somebody starts a combo, the armour comes out, they drop. You just punished someone for trying to learn the game. They brought the rando buttons thing back. Does anyone like this?
The game still looks and sounds incredible. Story mode was great despite getting a bit contrived toward the end. Credit where it's due.
Too much greed.
The game isn't even finished! It's too early to tell. Same with Tekken 8 and SF6. We don't know if these games will surpass their previous titles or not.
What this game needs, is a "No Man's Sky" miracle!
