Omni Man and Tremor are UNAVAILABLE OFFLINE.
I paid 100% of the money for the characters I should be allowed to use them 100% of the time i have the game. Not one to complain but THIS is wrong. Please upvote so NRS gets wind.

You should ask for your money back. Of course, I do not see the value in playing this offline and against braindead bots who are easy to beat. But then again, you may have preferred and intended to waste your life on offline play. Go ask for refunds, bro. And once you have your money back, you may afford internet.

This is what happens when a Game becomes a Live Service that requires being Always Online. Almost everything will become Dust once they turn the Servers Off, and with WB Hemorrhaging Money I wouldnt count on this being Available for more then a few Years unless they make some kind of comeback.

THIS indeed is unacceptable BS !! & it wasn't present in their previous games. What's the purpose of getting these skins if you can't even play with them OFFLINE / LOCALLY ?!

They need to change it ASAP.

Because they want to be able to decide when you have to stop playing the Game. These Companies dont like the idea that Players can not play their Over Monetized Crap and instead go play Older Better Games. This wont change until people STOP Buying them.

MK1 is as close to a "games as a service" title as WB-NRS have released, without it being declared a literal "games as a service" product.

The game is a veritable demo offline -- player-2 cannot even use any unlocked content! So, it does not surprise me that "DLC" content that you paid for to own, is still locked to WB servers -- i.e., you actually paid for nothing but the right to use the content if the online connectivity is present.

True, but this technically applies to any Steam game ; Unless there's a clause I don't know about in their EULA that guarantees you continued " ownership " post-liquidation ? I mean, let's be honest... most of us are hedging our bets for an instant magic acquisition if that ever happens.

There are a lot of Games that you can still play Offline. So even if Steam was to suddenly turn everything off you could still play them. Plus lets be honest the only way Steam would ever go away is if something far more serious then them Going Out of Business was to happen. They make far to much Money to just up and shut down.

Nope. Most Steam games launch offline, and the DLC is already activated on the client side -- irrespective of any ping to a server. In fact, most game do not have central servers -- connecting p2p through Steam itself. MK1, as with MK11, is effectively an MMO, in that it needs a server ping to "activate" content. So, when you buy something not in the vanilla / "base" game, it won't appear unless a server check is made... Indeed, if the online connection drops, even if one is playing offline, the game boots the player back to the menu and the game is relegated to its vanilla state again.

The only glimmer of hope for anyone sticking with this turdware, is that they eventually release a "Komplete" version of the game, and that that SKU will have all content unlocked without the necessity for server checks... Which still doesn't help people who bought the game already, unless they want to re-buy it again in a couple of years (presuming they do not offer a free upgrade to "Komplete Edition", which they certainly will not).

In MK11, to dupe the content, you needed tools to hack their servers and reconcile one's local profile with with a profile that had more / most / all content unlocked. After that, if you could not connect to the server, the local save profile would still allow access unlocked content (thus, being able to download "100% save files" for the 'unofficial' version of the game). However, MK1 looks to have taken the next step towards the "games as a service" model that WB are fast moving all their titles to, by removing all offline profile content that is not in the vanilla version of the game... Hence, needing server ping to gain access to content you own, like DLC. Come "MK13", and the franchise will become an effective MMO -- mark my words... As well as Ed Boon's:

Interviewer: "What would be your dream game to make?"
Boon: "A persistent, online MMO."
(*Taken from a "99 questions" interview, back around the launch of MK11)

Ye, Ye, sure. What I meant was - ALL Steam games require the internet to download in the first place/ Who the F keeps thousands upon thousands of games installed on their HDD at the same time ? basement gastropods don't count... & if you continue reading the rest of it, I was making a point about actual " ownership " on Steam... which is a very abstract notion in it of itself. We're more like renters, than actual owners.
