Nerfing stuff inherently makes a game more boring, because it serves to drag characters closer together; rather than set them apart form one another -- the very purpose of a fighting game that isn't Mr. Karate Fighter Man vs. Mr. Karate Fighter Man. Strengthening that which is comparatively weak, makes those erstwhile weak things attractive, which then promotes diversity in char. selection and play style. Even the damage nerfs to combos have been for the worse; as now damage output is even more homogenised across the roster (30~40% optimal), and any character who was opted previous opted for because of their damage potential, is now overlooked for whoever works best with Kung Lao... Boooooooooooooooooorinnnnnnnnnnnnnnng 😴
In the end, the Kameo system is bullshoot, and cannot be "fixed" as such. I'd wager 1,000 Vietnamese dong that most would play the game without Kameos, if they were to add a non-Kameo game mode... The gimmick really is that on-the-nose for most players; as was predicted before the game was even released.
