There is a unique seasonal fatality in the store, which you can only unlock using their premium currency called Krystals. If you translate that into money then it costs about $10.
+1
We really dodged a bullet there. The best thing about MK 1 is the steam discussions about it.
The paid seasonal fatalities are pretty ♥♥♥♥ so doesnt really bother me. Generally only use a fatality on last round of a set because dont like sitting through them.
most negative reviews seem to be the pve people.
No krossplay biggest turn off for me.
-Plot falls off a cliff after it stops focusing on the Tournament and becomes more multiverse nonsense that's plaguing all media
-Kombat still isn't snappy enough with some people suffering inputs not working
-it's designed to be a full price gacha complete with overpriced store, drip fed currency, a focus on invasions which is less about kombat and more about how many modifiers you can deal with all topped off with the shrine where you redeem your hard earned currency set up to give you artwork 98% of the time
-Seasons is a massive waste of time that doesn't give you any decent rewards, just bad recolours
-character/costume design is more miss than hit with some suffering more than most (poor Tanya, Lei Mei, and Smoke's hair)
-less customisation than MK11, you'd think it would be deeper next game, not worse. Their excuse is by limiting it they can have better costume design but that very clearly was a lie.
-Kameo system wasn't worth the development time. Feels like its there more to sell you skins rather than to actually enhance kombat.
Now despite the wall of complaints, it's not all bad. Despite not being snappy enough I do still enjoy the gameplay and when you remove all the bull weighing it down and just do a 1v1 there's real enjoyment to be had. The only problem is the game actually punishes you for this. Anyone with common sense will wait for a sale and I do mean a deep one.
