I really hate that they made most of the characters ugly!

Mk9 models were just the perfect for this series and since mk11, they just got worse and worse. Shang tsung, kitana, mileena, sindel almost all of them. I am not sure how they managed to do that but even Liu Kang and Kung Lao are ugly now in comparison to Mk9. It's really sad that they basically downgraded characters from mk9.

The design direction for this game really all over the place:

- Mileena's dressed quite reserved despite her background being anything but, her alts are modelled on crab people apparently... and her face is perfectly good with the teeth but without, she looks bloated.
- Kenshi. Man they did him dirty with the outfits. The only decent one is the suit.
- Scorpion outright makes zero sense now thanks to swapping Hanzo for Kuai Liang (whoever did that should be fired) you have outfit details and abilities of a spectre, even though he never was one
- General Shao and his big dumb horns.
- Li Mei and Tanya were beaten with the ugly frumpy stick
- Havik looks dumb, like someone from a boy band was hired to play him
- Goro is tiny
- Frost is cosplaying as Sub-Zero instead of wearing her DA outfit AGAIN
- Somehow Rain is the most generic he's ever been despite not being a ninja that's purple anymore.
- Smoke. Went from a slick armoured outfit and fabulous hair in 9 to looking like a random NPC ninja.

Everyone else is fine. Reptile especially who looks the best he's ever looked outside of MK4 and I quite like Nitara's design, a shame about the voice.

Yep I think they were all made using the same base model then ever so slightly altered. It's really weird that everybody looks the same. You can make better looking characters in most games that have create-a-character options.

Both are garbage but at least in MK9 women had hot bodies. In MK1 they look like average office women that never work out.

That's a pretty unpopular opinion. Can't say that I fully agree. I think all male characters look great. I wish Reptile looked more like a reptilian humanoid rather than a human twink and a lizard-croc but that's just me. I also love Shao Kahn's face.

Female characters on the other hand have been uglified for the wrong reasons. Kitana, Mileena, Li Mei and Tanya are such uggos.

The funny thing that models that they used are hot but the characters ended up being ugly.

Google Kitana's model. She is hot af but Kitana is ugly af.
Same with Megan Fox and the vampire chick.

i agree but this is the new trend for western games. female characters most look like apes or close enough so that males dont get too excited about them.
