I'm using a 'faster than Series S' NVME SSD with similar/slightly better CPU+GPU+RAM compared to Series S and my local matches load slower, character models on the select screen take 1.5+ seconds to load for me whereas it's less than a second on Series S.

No idea what are you talking about. The game loads < 5s to match on any decent SSD. That's fast enough. Only annoyance is people who still in 2023 install game on HDD and then you have to wait for them(online) like 30s to load the match.

ive been playing 20 hours and no clue what loading times youre blabbering about. if you have it on ssd, everything should load quickly. otherwise you screwed up somehwere

try to lower down your setting in the in game settings and make sure the game is in SSD..

Even my potato pc can load this unoptimized game per match for at least 3-4 seconds (in Towers,invasion,story, Online based on connection)... wait let me share you my guide if you want..but can promise anything because crashes will still come up..all I can do is lessen it or temporarily fix it... not until they fix this unoptimized game...
