Hi All,

Have had the stuttering issues and found a remedy.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I have had to repeat this process every time before playing the game so far. Luckily its a simple process.

Within the Steam App, make sure you have Mortal Kombat displayed:

Select settings icon
Select Properties
Select General
Disable screen overlay
Delete overlay data

Please let us know if this helped you as it might help others!

Okay I did all three and it somehow got worse(?)

So far the only thing I've been able to do is reinstall the game. The game seems to run just fine for a day or two after installation and then I have to reinstall.

My laptop isn't exactly cutting edge but damn, i9 processor, GeForce RTX 3060, 16gb memory, like cut me a break... I run this game at minimum graphics settings and still it stutters so much that I drop every single combo, game is literally unplayable

Guys the stutter is that between FMV videos and loading in actual fighters. Is it REALLY that much of a problem regarding seemless injjections of video vs real renders?

LMFAO! Not one single person is imagining this............. There will be a DLC story expansion. I don't mind it. But also understand that a vast majority of your MK 11 and this new MK1? The vast MAJORITY of your HD space is used for the MOVIE DATA you only saw once.

yeah the frame pacing often breaks in 30fps scenes.

I just got the game and was getting stutters with my 7950x3d + 4090 too.

I changed the energy preferred plan from balanced to high performance and the game is basically at a locked 60 fps outside of the cutscenes. It looks like it turned off the core parking. Much better than the internment stutters from 60 to 50's.

why can't they fix the game themselves why do I have to do all this ♥♥♥♥ when I run bigger games without any issues.

Thank you very much! that worked! it never dawned on me to change my power plan. I also checked what my power plan was on my i9 system in hopes it would fix that as well but it's already set to Ultimate Performance so i do think that's the problem on the Intel and more so something to do with the E core's but regardless, I can play again thanks to you, much appreciated!

I agree 100%, the fix for my ryzen system was a minor one but i don't want to turn off my E core's just to play one game when all the other's are fine with them on, and i think they should have prioritized fixing this issue from day one since it probably affected a good amount of player's and they may have gotten refunds because of this. Hopefully the next update finally addresses this issue but it might be too late to win back those players since the game's been out for awhile.

Did you switch from Intel to AMD or do u have 2 systems? I have a 13900K and I just had to disable core parking and that fixed the stutter.

I have 2 systems, 7950X3D + 4090 and a i9 13900K + 4090. I think i'm fine for now as long as one of them can play this game without issue. Hopefully this get's a permanent fix that doesn't require us to make alterations to keep cores unparked or turning off E cores just to get the game to work right.

Glad it works, just make sure to put it back on balanced after playing. Not sure how it impacts Intel's new processors, but Ryzen recommends balanced mode. I hope they fix this because like others have said, we shouldn't have to be doing this.

Yep, returned the setting back to balanced and decided to try switching my power plan on my intel system from ultimate performance down to balanced and voila! the stuttering is gone on that system as well. Again thank you for pointing me in the right direction and i hope this can help others having this issue.

Much Appreciated!

here's the video how to do it:

All credit to Danny Moran and hopefully it helps you fix the stutter.
I know this helps, but I really can't be bothered to neuter my CPU and possibly performance in other games for just 1 game
this is such a stupid issue, didn't this game have a beta on PC? how could this not have been patched out

In my case changing the Bios power plan to high performance was not enough. It was better than Balanced but it did not fix the stuttering. Disabling CPU parking using regedit worked tho.

Btw I've just tested it (for science) and unparking the CPU using regedit does not work if your Bios power plan is not set to high performance (at least in my case).

There are two power options in Windows 11.

The Control Panel power options.

Then the other power options which is located at:

Start - Settings - System - Power - Power Mode - Best Performance.

If you mess with these two. You'll see they bug out.

Let the stutter happen. It's a difference between movie files and in game files. The movie files are permanent, the in game files are loaded in. It isn't perfect but if was their way of trying to immerse the player.
