Also the tutorial in MK1 is very very useful, they teach you everything you need to know about fighting games , how to pressure, how to get out of pressure and a lot more, if you did not do the tutorial i would def recommend doing so ( it takes around an hour or so but it is expansive in a good way).
Now if you don't have a friend to play with casually i don't recommend hoping online without practicing some good combos to punish and some mix ups to open up players who are constantly blocking, because even in casual people are sweating and most of them knows what they're doing.
Another good way to practice is playing Hard /Very Hard towers.
Yep. It’s been this way since MK9 on the PC. They record their input once and set it up as a macro. I just did it to see if it’s actually possible and it is. Now if I hit Numpad 1 and 2. I do Kitana’s right side combo. Numpad 3 and 4 for her left side.
I’ve played MK on both PC and Xbox. I usually buy it for both. The players on console are usually a little easier since they can’t use scripts (well now that Cronus Zen exists they can). It’s usually obvious when the opponent plays like a CPU but constantly repeating the same combo and constantly landing it.
The game definitely needs an anti cheat or some form of application that can determine macro users. I’ve been screaming this since MK9.
I use an Xbox Series X controller. Add me if you want to play. I’ll go easy on you lol.
Thanks for your comment. Nice to read something coherent with constructive advice. I have played in practice for over an hour with characters I like I nailed some specials/ moves but its combo timing - I cant seem to quite nail massive strings yet like I can play casually and get a few specials in with a small string, I block well enough but if I get caught in a combo - my health is pretty much gone and my kameo always gets screwed. I know where my weaknesses lie but again im not planning to be a pro.
I've done some tutorials but honestly the character ones like on part 3 the combos are insane I know im not at that level to be doing 40%+ combos in one string ya know? maybe 10-20%. but that's where I'm at. My main concern here was just match making and always going up against very good/button masher/macros feeling/ pro sweat players those who spam the same ♥♥♥♥ and tbag ya.
I just hope the ranked will settle soon and players will get match made right. Imma still practice and do offline stuff I just don't wanna feel alienated and bullied for being a casual player.
Yeah. It is insulting. I made one just to test it out. I'm never going to use it unless I'm up against another macro user. It's definitely cheating and requires no skill. Hopefully you get a few better matches that aren't with potential cheaters/sweats.
How have you gone since this post? I play alot of Kombat League and it is just absolutely a horrific experience. All that happens is 40% to 50% repeat offenders. NRS don't care about balancing and the suggestion to play the tutorial? yeh don't bother. Best to play against the AI on varying difficulties so that way you learn to adapt to the situation.
