anyone run into this issue or have a fix?

I have had enough of this, i have intel optane memory and 32GB of RAM, the entire system loads up in like 4-5secs. I dont play daily, when i have a few minutes to spare, my RTX 4070 always needs to update, the game needs to download several gigs for an update and then install it and when it finally starts, i also have to wait 4-5mins more, each and every time to create those shaders... This only after i redownloaded the game on my SSD, because on the hybrid HDD it took about 15mins.
On total i always wait like 15-35mins to play for like 7-15mins.
Do you leave the game via Alt-Enter? Alt-Tab should be fine.
Your shader cache has reached its limit and keeps rewriting it. to fix this go into nvidia control panel and set your shader cache to unlimited.
Yeah ever since the homelander update this has consistently kept popping up everytime I start the game. This was never an issue before back in the Raiden season, I am glad I’m not the only one dealing with this issue.
If it says loading shader cache from disk and the progress counter goes fast it is fine. But if it is actually running the compile process everytime, there is something wrong with your system.

You might want to do a clean install of the GPU drivers. If you dont have DDU, I strongly recommend downloading it... it is a must have util for any PC gamer.

Boot into safe mode, launch DDU and remove the old GPU drivers. Then install the latest GPU drivers (preferably download the installer for it beforehand prior to doing the DDU clean). Relaunch the game and it will run the shader compile... give it 15 to 20 mins for it to finish properly. With that you should have a proper shader cache on your storage which will load up quickly from then on after game startup.

That fixed it for me. Just had to set the shader cache to unlimited in the NVIDIA control panel
Mine does it every time plus the towers and invasions modes crash and create a file about the crash that eat up my hard drive

This is (in my opinion a non-existing issue) for the PC version:

to start:

- There no need to delete files and al your configured game setting in de %appdata%\MK12 folder.

Conclusion and Evindence:

just have some patiance to start with...

What i found out:
The game halts for a long while writing data to the disk in the shader load screen,
I monitored the game process, and when running shader optimisation there seem to be two mk12.exe processes running, windows thinks the main game UI GPU process hangs, but the second mk2.exe process is very busy writing and compressing shaders to the disk. That process loads and writes tons of data (gigs write/read until shaders creation completes a +/- 750mb shader DB file). the main game process comes back to life after a few minutes after the second mk12 process is done writing the shaders. If you want to see progress.

When starting the game experiencing it hangs, alt + tab out, or press windowskey+r to run perfmon.exe (without a path) and view disk writes in there from mk12.exe processes until it finishes).

Just wait ppl it might seem to take ages. But there is no issue with it if you ignore the hanging game... Be patience daniël san, the game will come back to live, it is simple a bug the devs need to look@ 😉😊🦝🦝🦝

💕For the MK(12) (MK1) devs: (seems the shader process is not updating disk write stats and even freezes on the process status update screen in the main game menu, seems that the second shader writing process is not reporting back status while creating the actual shaders files, resulting in non-responding process for windows, resulting into customers thinking the game is bugged, as windows report them it is...).

It happens every time here too. It never use to but now it does. It's not a huge deal breaker though. Usually takes like 2 seconds.
2 seconds my ass. Clearly you're not having any issues with the game like we are. Takes me 30 mins to get to gameplay. 2060 rtx, i5 10600, 32gb ram, 2tb ssd. And the game runs like crap
Have people tried doing a proper clean of old GPU drivers using DDU and doing a fresh install of the latest drivers using the offline installer? This could help with shader caching issues.

I always do this with every driver version update and the game only compiles shaders the very first time its launched following install of new drivers but once its compiled every time I launch the game it instantly goes into the intro movie following the epilepsy warning screen.

Hello guys. I did the following things and it seems helped me. GTX1660.
0. Update the Nvidia driver to the latest version.
1. Then go into Nvidia Panel and set Shader cache to 10Gb.
2. Go into AppData\Local\MK12\Saved and remove old cache files. They look like "D3D....cached" or so.
3. Restart the game and wait for the shaders preprocessing to be completed to 100%. If it stuck - remove cache files and try again.
4. After getting 100%, go into in-game settings menu and turn on Vsync. Also I set up the game graphics to LOW.
After that I got shaders preprocessing time reduced to a few seconds only and the game stopped crashing.

Yeah but then you're playing on LOW, which is a no go for such a beautiful game.

Setting the game graphics to low is going to make the game even more CPU bound than it already is

No every time is not normal and doesn’t do that to me.

To fix delete folder in c:/users/your name/app data/local/MK 12.

Disable cloud

Load game and set settings

Exit out and re-enable cloud selecting oldest date after clicking conflict showing for cloud.
😮
Seems this helped me after I got "out of video memory" error while shaders were compiling. Just updated the bios to the latest version. The issue is in the cpu itself.
