It's unprecedented because sf6 is both an older game and MK is meant to appeal to a broader audience than SF6. That being said low player count has to do with things outside of gameplay.

Fighting games all have notoriously low player counts, the PFC itself is small, everyone knows everyone, and most of them all hate each other because it's always been small and they are all so sick of seeing each other. Doesn't mean the game is dead, or that one is better than the other. Events and tourneys pop off year round like clock-work, they make money, people show up, and everyone has an awesome time.

Greatly misunderstood fact about fighting games, they are mostly observed and rarely played by the majority of people interested in fighting games.

The only take away from this post is as follows:

If you couldn't afford the game then this post makes sense.
If you own the game and are getting your ass beat on repeat than this post makes sense.
If you don't own or play fighting games, then this post makes sense.

Anyone that knows all of this, knows this post isn't worth a clown award. It's the same vibe as going to the circus and walking right past the dumb ass clown trying hard to get some attention. Only reason I'm writing this is because I'm waiting for my uber eats and it's here now k cya bye

Fighting games on twitch fluctuate depending on events and big streamers playing the game. I've seen sf6 go from 2k viewers to 50k viewers and same with most fighting games.

SF6 changed that.
It has 25k players at peak times consistently for months now on pc alone.

idk why people brag about sf6 concurrent peaks, when its during asia time zone. So unless you live in asia sf6 hitting even 100k would mean nothing to the rest of the world.
