bought the game yesterday downloaded and installed it 94GB played for roughly a hour went to be got up went to work come home from work 20 minutes ago steam say MK1 has a update start the update and its 72GB!!!!!!!!!!!! cant anyone explain this?

I think the download is a bit over 3, the rest is all hard drive work. Unless I am seeing it wrong.

eh? the update was 6.5gb

yeah when i looked at steam before i stated the download it said 6.5 but its now saying 73.5

Pretty sure the left side number is download size, right side how many GB it extracts/patches. So, the download might not actually be that big, but ends up affecting that much surface area.

It's not 73 gb. Not sure what you are seeing, but mine downloaded in a couple minutes, which cannot happen that fast.

I just got home today after taking a break since Monday. Mine says download 638MB/69.5GB. My disk says 736/73.3GB. My download says it will take 20 hours. This is ridiculous...
