It is definitely laggy as hell. Played locally against a couple people and it's a night and day difference.

Played against a laggy af Raiden and got fataled every match... felt like quitting but didnt want to for the achievement. Had to take a 3-0 loss...

Idk why is the online experience so bad against certain people. Playing with laggy ass connections (prob wifi) just makes it terrible

This game will die in a couple weeks with this trash online.

all fighting games are P2P, there are only 3 fighting games atm that use dedicated servers. Those are brawhalla, multiversus, and Project L

Guys from RipsArena confirmed that mk1 is not p2p this time, probably because of crossplay testing. They have played a lot in mk11 and in mk1 ping is much higher, even if they were from one district ping was about 130.
Multiversus - see what WB doing?)))

NRS games aren't focused on a thriving online mode. They don't really have the character balance to function as good ranked ecosystems anyway. That's part of why NRS game tournaments aren't as big as they could be - they're more about story than competitive rigour.

I think this is a shame, because having both would be really awesome. But MK sells a lot to people who play the story mode, couch vs., and grind to unlock cosmetics. These people don't seem to invest much in ranked, as far as I have heard.

if that's true, is pc to console crossplay going to happen? multiversus had crossplay across all platforms.

Also if the game was server based then every match would be consistent since other player connections would not affect yours. So far i have been in matches from 30-190 ping some were great and some were bad. i've had matches with 30 ping that felt worse than the 190.

The online in general is ♥♥♥♥ not just ranked, nrs openly loathe pc, from outsourcing to the cheapest company they can find to spending no money at all on servers, this is just par for the course. 2 pre-launch test windows and they still decided that a single server, in Kazakhstan, powered by gerbils would be good enough for a £60 2023 game that lives or dies on it's ability to maintain a consistent online scene

Mk1 and most fighting games are p2p so servers being ♥♥♥♥ wouldn't affect your connection to other players.

It was smooth the first 2-3 days but now almost every match my opponents animations seem to skip frames and go at 3x speed (in bursts)

Past tense.

Did you manage to find a fix? Having the same issue now after a few months playing the game.
manhattan flash Apr 5, 2024 @ 5:15am
Some people say that they don't encounter lag online, so makes you wonder is it a region based problem or smth.
I'm in Europe and I've had the same issue ever since Janet update, stopped playing until nrs fixes this. I've encountered serious lag/tearing probably every 2 matches and I could see by how my opponents played/reacted that they probably had the same issue when I didn't so i was basically destroying them while they were watching a slide show.
Have nrs said anything about this, mb they are on this already or is it as usual: nothing and a fix probably in the next 2-4 weeks ?
