If you listen to a lot of them they just land very flat. Half of them don't seem to make sense as dialogue leading directly into a fight. It's like two characters complement each other then one of them kicks the other for no reason whatsoever. Just really bizarre stuff.
Combine all that with no customizable intros and outros and it really limits what they are going to do with their DLC characters. Think about some of those Spawn intro and outro animations. They oozed personality and showed off what the character was about. Huge levels of fan service there.
But now? Characters like Homelander are going to be standing there with some bum ass Kameo constantly at their side. Pretty lame stuff.
A tag team mode would add a bit of variety to the gameplay. One of my favourite fighting games of yesteryear was Tekken Tag Tournament 2, add the game modes from that game and this could become a modern classic.
What are you talking about? They did that in the last game too. Characters either being funny, flirty, or making a pop culture reference.
