you can try this, it worked for me (3060 laptop, i5-12500H)

do the following:

Press WINDOWS + R
type: msconfig
go to BOOT section
go to ADVANCED OPTIONS
check NUMBER OF PROCESSORS
Set 4 cores
Restart your pc
Check if your game is fixed by this

You can also change the MK12 cores, without decreasing them in system:

Found a better solution for black screen fix (12th intel gen processor users)

Instead of changing cores for system, we can change it for just an app.

1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mortal Kombat 1

2. Create a shortcut of MK12.exe

3. Right click on the created shortcut, select Properties

4. In the Target section: copy and paste this:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start /B /affinity 0xFF "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mortal Kombat 1" start MK12.exe

5. Save this and START THE GAME VIA A SHORTCUT

REMEMBER TO KEEP THE SHORTCUT IN THE SAME FOLDER AS MK12.EXE

If needed setup MK12.exe to run as admin.

This command makes the game use 8 cores.

thanks for that, actually helped out getting passed black screen now it's just preparing shaders
