Is there a smart way to buying the game?

Do I really need to spend 100€ before launch to get all characters?! How did it work out with previous MK games?

I think you misread something. If you pre-order the premium edition, you get the game 5 days early (so tomorrow, the 14th) 1 week early access to the Kombat Pack, some coins and Shang Tsung. If you just pre-order the normal version of the game, you get the game and then have to wait for the kombat pack and Shang Tsung to release on their own! The same happened with MKX and 11 i believe.

I just had to go back and read it all again and i was wrong, my apologies! So if you pre-order either edition, you'll get Shang Tsung! If you don't pre-order, im assuming he'll be purchasable in the future!

You have to remember that you're buying stuff that you don't know how it will play or look.

As an example, I don't wanna get the premium version cause the single character that interests me in the pack is Ermac and he looks as if the sahara desert punched his lights out.

Unless there are ways to customize his look, I won't be spreading for the pack. So keep the above things in mind. How will he look, can we change his look, how will he play, will we be able to use him in Invasion, etc.

The smart way is buying it on cdkeys and getting everything for around the same price as the standard version (region pricing applicable.) Just know you will forfeit any right to a refund.

You get to pay just once for a full game, instead of paying full price now for 2/3

Pre-ordering anything is almost always a bad idea but it's just the characters. It works out most of the time. It's different to preordering a whole game based on promo material and receiving a downgrade.

I want access to all characters but don't care about early access. So the question is which is cheaper - premium edition now or standard now and just the characters later when they come out.

That's what's confusing me. They say that Shang Tsung is a pre-order exclusive as in people who get the game after release will NEVER get access to him. ?!

You're right but I'm only interested in multiplayer so it's best to get in early.

You're right but I'm only interested in multiplayer so it's best to get in early.

People who don't pre-order will get Shang Tsung way later down the line, they won't miss out, don't worry!

uh fighting games are the most fun when everyone is playing them and its easy to find matches at all skill levels. When the complete edition comes out only vets will be playing online.
