So, a reboot.
MK got big due to three things, namely:

1. digitized graphics (graphics realism)
2. violence (blood, graphic executions)
3. kung fu movie feel (ninjas, monks, etc)

So for a reboot, I think they should look into how the original MK Arcade game was, as well as the first movie.

To re-create the stages and characters in great detail.

To remix the soundtrack and sounds.

To make the combat system accessible yet still "deep" enough.

To bring back the "kung fu movie" feel.

If they manage to deliver this, it could be a great reboot.

100% Agree

MK lost the oriental mysticism atmosphere it once had

Remember the fenomenal soundtracks from 1 and 2 ?

Absolutely.

MK3 is when the series kinda lost that "mystical" vibe and the game wasn't quite as appreciated as the first two were.

They sort of "fixed" that with UMK3 and later MKT and MK4, but the first two games had that very special atmosphere to them, so many long-time players remember them the fondest.

Perfectly put. 3 lost that atmosphere .
And then owards some games had just sparks of it.

I think Mythologies ,Deadlly Alliance ,Deception and MK 9 had some , but less and less on each title until it totally desaperad from X and 11 (i dont even count MK vs DC)
But none ever surpassed 1 and 2

You know what, i'm gona watch Big Trouble in Little China right now xD

basically the early 2000's up until maybe 2015 killed the "feel" of every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ series. Everything became a post 9/11 special ops rainbow six story mixed in with whatever the original story was lol.

I hope that at least the soundtrack gets sent back to them old mystical and eastern roots for it's already the time to drop that military Hollywoodian symphonies that are not memorable at all.

Though I'm also fond of the gritty industrial and techno-like tracks from UMK3 and Deception, as well.

Reject modernity. Embrace Bloodsport and Big Trouble In Little China.

I agree and as long as they do not over tinker with the formula it may be good. However, they can think outside of the box if it brings it to its potential.
