This is what most of us was thinking was coming.

I don't believe that "most" people were hyped more for a re-release of the classic games you can play on Mame or any other arcade emulator, over an actual main line MK game. People wanted them to play in between the mainline games but they were not to replace the main games.
Yeah people forget almost all MK games played 100% different from one another. MK1-2 played nothing like UMK3-trilogy, and MK9, MKX, and MK11 played nothing a like.
MK1 is looking to add to that trend where they might take a mechanic or 2 from their previous game, but they are in fact making an MK game that plays/feels different from the others.
I'm just glad it looks faster then MK11.
Yeah thank god. MK11 kind of sucked for a variety of reasons (breakaway was a stupid mechanic, game was super slow and they removed all the combo depth). This game looks a lot faster, more combo depth again like 9 and 10 and some air combo stuff from the 3D games. Looks like a big improvement. Now if only they could make the game a reasonable price.
Lol yeah I would love to pay less, but we all know this garbage AAA $70 trend is not going anywhere any time soon. Its either you buy it on launch full price or you wait for a sale/price drop.
I personally HAVE to buy fighting games day one, because those are the best times to get into them, learn, and level up with everyone else. It sucks MK1 is $70 but I will still un-apologetically be paying full price lol, I even might get the other edition for the DLC characters because I know I will get all DLC for this game (I have for every other NRS game since MKX), so I might as well get them early.
MK1 looks like a stiffer version of MK11, with more generic-looking character aesthetics.
But I think the character's base models looks a little generic.
Its like everyone have the same weight and the same height.
Yeah I can see this. I guess they wanted to go back to the very basic character designes of the original MK as well, which is why characters look more basic.
