Lol, what? You can never compare an instant ice clone with that mostly useless knock-off with a long-ass start-up, inability to throw at your opponent(MKX), inability to explode(MKX), very, very difficult to throw your opponent at, and a very restricted application overall. It's like comparing a full-auto rifle to a crossbow, or even a slingshot.
When you can throw it, explode it, etc.? Lol.
Granted, MK1 Sub-Zero's ice clone is more akin to his MK9 version, with no throws, explosions, very short time. But it is still great to have a classic IC again, and not some pathetic bootleg substitution.
Patience is key. Similar to Cetrion's deadly winds attack its not about what to do against it because you can't do anything against it . Its about what she follows up with and i learned this from a pro in the FGC one on one. I'll take his word over anyones anyday considering who he is . The overall point was that you have options. Calling Arctic trap a knock off is just silly . It is still a move being used by a member of the lin kuei ( Tundra ) who bears his brother Bi han's name ( sub zero ). Arctic trap is uesed in MK11 the same way Ice clone is used in other games minus the throwing and instant air freeze. Just watch sikander555 ,or MK Tom Brady and they use the same set ups .
Toss it out and hide behind it , waiting for the opponents reaction or use it on knock down for a 3 way mix into a restand . Even sikander555 has shown and made tutorials on this very concept . Clearly you don't understand how Arctic trap and ice clone are the same. Maybe you don't use it effectively .
I really question this sikander555 dude. I watch alot of tournaments. If he shows up live in person, he gets eliminated early every time. But if he plays exclusively online, he wins alot and appears to be the best subzero you ever see.
I have no memory of this guy advancing in any live in-person tournament. No other player have this huge difference in-person vs online performance.
Also sikander555 can't be labeled as a pro because as far as i know He's never placed in tournament nor competed at on at least not in MK11 that i know of.
Why do I care what Tom Brady has to say? Nice appeal to authority fallacy. MKX Sub-Zero clone was busted, he could throw it as a projectile or turtle behind it as he saw fit and it was extremely hard to play against it if you weren't using a heavy zoner. Therein lies the problem with the advice you give; you assume everyone's going to play "patient" but that's obviously not gonna happen if you're playing a rushdown character. So, at the very least, Sub-Zero is a menace to deal with for anyone who's relying on rushdown to do their damage.
I think it's hilarious that you seem to be giving people unsolicited advice here acting like some sort of master of MK just because they say they dislike facing a specific character. What is your endgame if not just to troll?
Kung Lao was the only thing enjoyable in MK'2021. When he died, the movie died together
I dont like to see him being portraied as a jealous atention seeker since MK9, but it seems, unfortunately, that NRS is going at it AGAIN in the new timeline
I loved him in the original TL ,where he really had no interest in the tournament, all he wanted was to dedicate himself to the White Lotus Society and his hat collection =D. His Deadlly Alliance desing was the best, i would love to see it back
"Be patient" isn't really saying much. Being patient while the opponent turtles behind ice clone and chucks ice balls at you until you get close enough to have to guess between an overhead and a slide doesn't sound to me like a winning strategy. The "be patient" advice is a meme, as no matter how patient you play, Sub-Zero still has all the agency in most matchups that can't punish his turtling with solid zoning.
BTW, I see what you're trying to do. You're basically trying to get people to tell you what character they find annoying so you can come in and act like an expert by using other people's opinions to justify what you're saying as correct.
Yeah, not interested in any more interactions with you now that I figured ya out.
