Classic scheme is just the controls of old but Modern turns the game into a quick action pick up and play.
With Modern you don't need to worry about ♥♥♥♥♥♥ half-circle inputs to pull off a move since they're mapped to a single button and it even offers combo "assists" which grant the Modern player the ability to pull supers at the end of a combo, with single inputs i.e one button.
Doubtful MK1 has any of that. You'll still need to input the same crappy commands i.e back, forward and low punch for Scorpion's spear, for example, react like the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Flash to pull a fatality and suffer through the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥ conditions to pull off a brutality. Boring.
