I am OK with the kameo system as long as I have the option to play without it too
I'm seriously considering this as well.
That's really discouraging to hear. I really don't like the system and I don't think I'm going to be able to enjoy the game if I can't turn it off.
The concept of mortal kombat is 1 on 1 between two fighters. When you have random non-continuity characters appearing and interfering in the fight it takes me out of the suspension of belief that it's a clash between two fighters. It ruins the moment for the sake of a weird gametype. It completely ruins the tone of a fight, and while I don't mind such modes existing I prefer not to play with them. For it to be there in such a manner in which I cannot escape it means that every fight I ever do in this game is going to have this thing that bothers me. And when I say it bothers me it completely disconnects me from the game. If it is indeed something that can't be disabled it means I am never going to be able to experience a fight that I enjoy start to finish without interruption, and if that's the case then I probably shouldn't play this game because it means every fight I ever have I'm going to have this thing bothering me. So it's kind of a big deal.
At this point my only wish is that the Kameo System won't be as intrusive as to appear during Story Mode's cutscenes or that the game makes a logical explanation for it.
They kinda dropped the ball with Kronika being able to summon Robocop, Terminator and so on during 11 but... I want to give them the benefit of doubt.
As the assists per se... Well, it isn't something new to the genre and the latest gameplay videos seems fun. It just a matter of try it and see how it goes.
