Switch or PC?
I can't decide on getting this for Switch or PC. I got the Wayfarer Edition (love it) for Octopath Traveler when it came out, and I typically prefer physical copies of games, but with this releasing simultaneously on PC, I'm not sure which way to go.

I like playing RPGs on the Switch, as I'm able to dock it on the TV, set it up at my exercise bike, or attach it to my bed frame at night. However, I had checked out Octopath Traveler on Game Pass (before I finished it on Switch) not too long ago, and the framerate was so magically smooth, it was hard to go back to the Switch.

On one hand, if I get a physical copy for Switch, I can share it easier with my immediate family and/or lend it out. If I get it on Steam, I can Family Share with distant family.

Anyone else on the fence? What's your approach?

I have the switch console but on my side there's absolutely no doubt at all i'll get it on PC. Better frame rate, way better loading time, and there's achievement to unlock which is fun to do. I prefer having it on pc as well cause in 20 years, there's more chance the game still runs on my newest PC where as the switch version, i'm not sure the console will still work after all this time. But hey, in 20 years square might just be re-release the game again as a remake, who knows...

From what you said, i think you should go with Switch Physical copy as it seems to be more advantageous for you.
For me, anytime a game is available on PC, i will always get the PC one.
Better FPS stability, Better Graphics as well, and on my end game's are cheaper on Steam compare to Nintendo Eshop or physical copy for Switch.
(p.s. roughly 15%~20% cheaper even on official launch, i think it's mainly due to currency on different country)
Another reason is, i don't play any switch game portable and it's 99% of the time docked,
so unless it's a game like Monster Hunter Rise where some of my friend only buy the switch version, so i had to get on both PC and switch to play with friends on both side, i generally buy all my games on PC if available. I mainly buy games digitally now a days, as it helps save some irl room space as well~

I have a Switch too, but no way I´m getting this on Nintendo´s console. Unless mobile gaming is a must, the answer is always PC: Higher resolution, better graphics, better frame rate, faster loading times, etc...

PC is the way to go. BE MASTER RACE!

I wouldnt be able to stand not having both games on the same platform. Both also have physical versions which I also vastly prefer over digital only. And the preorder comes with a slick steelbook.

Buut if it turns out that it runs like ♥♥♥♥ on the switch, then I might cancel the preorder after all...

PC for best quality and mods. I bought OT1 for Switch and loved it. You could get this on Steam Deck (if it works on there) and get the best of both worlds.

I'm getting this on PC despite having a Switch too.
I don't have a Switch. This game was the only reason for me to buy one, but then it released on PC. Next reason was Triangle Strategy, and it is on PC too. The only reason left for me is Live-A-Live 🤷🏽‍♂️

I have triangle strategy on switch and pc and it looks way cleaner on PC at 4K. Plan to get this on PC.

We'll be able to compare the demos' performance on all platforms before purchase.

So far in runs great on the switch, even in handheld.
Obviously, graphics are gonna be a little better on PC and PS5 but for this style of game, it doesnt really matter to me

I will test the switch demo tonight and then decide. But deciding whether to buy it on the Switch or not at all. I love physicals

For full price I'd prefer a physical release so Switch in this case.

For multiplatform games I often prefer PC especially if they're on Steam but Steam often sadly means there's no physical media. Not even a quick installer disc to save some bandwidth. But now, as an added bonus now many Steam games will work with a Steam Deck which is like a Switch.

Paying full price for a Digital release doesn't usually sit right with me unless it's something I'm going to play right away especially if it has competitive online. I'm still working on the first one so I'll wait for a sale. $80 CAD is a bit much for a game even when it if physical for me when I already have so many I haven't played. Digital can usually wait most of the time.
