Partitio's story is really well done for a number of reasons.

*** SPOILERS AHEAD ***

Morality aside, Roque getting out of the silver trade makes a ton of sense. It's all about the falling rate of profit; as silver becomes more abundant and easier to process it loses value, and in an improperly managed system that means that laborers get the brunt in the form of reduced wages and being unable to buy back the fruits of their own labor.

Partitio's story is neat because we see both sides of capitalism: the good side, aka early-stage, where capitalism can be a tool to stimulate economies and bring people out of poverty to create abundance (embodied in Partitio and his actions); and the bad side, aka late-stage, where capitalism's inherent contradictions (socialized production while private owners reap the majority of the rewards) create strife and lead to hoarding of wealth.

It's a way more interesting tale than the silly Moonshade Order and their "buh buh life is hard and people suck except we wouldn't think that if we engaged with people in any meaningful way beyond just judging them unworthy of living" belief system.

Sure concept-wise it is unique and interesting, but without proper execution, realistic characters, it doesn't hit at all.
