cant add party members

i took out every party member except my protag to open a door, but now i cant add anyone back + theres no character slots. idk

Are you still in there? You have to leave the temple to have more than one party member.

How are you trying to add them back? It should be the same way you removed them, but you may be doing something wrong. Screenshots of the issue perhaps?

on mobile right now but I’m just going to the tavern and attempting to add characters back but there’s no character slots. I think I’m forgetting something because I haven’t played this game in months

Are you sure you're pressing the correct button? The add character button isn't the same as the swap character one.
