Like in all honestly are you actually asking why a game released less than a month ago isn't on sale? And even asking for 50% off?
I can't fathom how anyone could actually have a brain that works that way.
Plenty of games got sales in the past when they came very early before a steam sale happened.
We probably won't see 50% off until mid 2024 at the earliest as is historically what we have seen from Square Enix. Keep in mind it is Square Enix that decides if their games will have a sale and not Steam.
You literally asked for a 50% discount for a game that's only a month old. Again, how could anyone even conceive of that being a normal thing?
But to answer your question OP is because it's a brand new game. If you want a discount don't expect the main sources to give you one so soon after release. Just look at third party sites that sell for cheaper.
Mmm, yeah. Maybe if it were 2015 it would be less egrgious.....I actually remember Neptunia 1 and 2 both had 50% off sales at launch.....but this is 2023 and such a thing, especially for an AAA publisher, would be pretty ridiculous to even consider.
