Relighting the flames should turn the music and side-quests back on...

The game doesn't just end after beating the final boss. Music and side quests will come back once you do that. You were also warned when starting the chapter that it would lock you out of activities for a while. So it's not like you couldn't see that coming.

I agree. As it is now, it is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid and I think is going to totally ruin the experience for people that don't just steamroll the final boss. What a gargantuan mistake by the developers. When the IGN reviewer took 10 hours of having no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ music to finally be able to beat the boss, yeah, I can easily see why they dumped a 7 on the game.

It warns you, but doesn't really prepare the player for disabling music for that long. Most point-of-no-return in JRPGs are bad, but Octopath 2's manages to be bad in totally new ways!

The doom and gloom atmosphere works fine when the flames are snuffed out, but after you relight them there isn't really anything that warrant everything else in the game to be disabled. Which can cause quite a frustrating experience if your B-Team is terrible, since now you are stuck leveling it on random trash rather than leveling them through side-quests.

Lucky for us, we have the game on PC so it's easy to just boot up cheat engine and give yourself a higher level.

Unlike OT1 you don't really need a good B Team because phase 1 and 2 share the same health pool. As long as your main dps in your primary party hits hard enough your second party can just use hired help to deal with the last bit of health to force a transition into phase 3. At that point you can just use your main party again and ignore the other 4.

Although a slightly different complaint. Vides track is great, but is it me or are the vocals less intense than Galderas Theme?

Perhaps it may not be just you. But after listening to both, I think I like Vide's theme more overall. Instrumentals and vocals.

I would have legit done everything I could in the game and then started that final chapter...that way there's nothing else to do but to push onward and finish him... I mean.. this is an RPG... who doesn't do EVERYTHING first before fighting the big bad? Bush league move bro.
