I honestly have no idea. It maybe affects the turn order of your party but even that is so random. I only know that my Temenos is most of the time the last to act but other than that i couldn't tell. Getting outsped by a level 25 with my lvl 60 Throné sure does not make speed look worth going for after all.

It affects turn order, what else do you think it would effect? Speed is important.

Haha Surprise Attack and Aeber's Reckoning go BRRRRR

Okay tired memes aside certain characters, like Throne, actually benefit a lot from having a good speed stat since some of her skills scale with it, and can get really strong if specced into. I tend to use her more as a support though and even so, getting a quick debuff or two in so the heavy hitters can capitalize on it alone is worth it.
