Should I play the 8 prologues?

I wonder if it's better to play each character prologue, or I just stick with the first one I choose.

Well they are all the start of their story so it would be silly to skip over them.

The option to skip them only exists because the devs didn't want to lock you into doing them to unlock the other party members.

I'm not clear on what you are asking. You can recruit all 8 characters, and there is no downside to doing so. You pretty much have to recruit at least 4 so that you have a full party to play with. Doing their chapter 1 gives you the start of their story, an introduction to their patch actions, and any xp and items you get along the way (I assume they start at level 1 if you skip it but don't know that for sure).

I think it is a good idea to do them. It will teach you to use their abilities and will get the character to around level 7. Otherwise they will join your party at level 1.
