And TBH, I would say that once you play OT2 there is absolutely no reason to play OT1. They're practically the same game, but OT2 has just made slight improvements to almost all of the systems for a better experience. It's more of a reboot than a sequel if you ask me.
Because if you play this game decide you like it and then go back to Octopath 1, a lot of the features they improved (in octo 2) will not be the case for Octo 1 playthrough and it may spoil the game for you a bit.
Why are you recommending a game that players will enjoy less? That's not what recommendations are for.
Octopath 1 is an amazing game and it's great to play through.
Octopath 2 is also an amazing game, but it improves on Octopath 1's system.
Assuming you like Octopath style of gameplay, if you play Octo 1 first you will enjoy it, because it's a great game
Then when you play Octopath 2 you will enjoy that too (maybe even more than the first) because of the features it enhances.
However playing them in the opposite order Octo 2 > Octo 1.
Means you get to enjoy the improvements in Octo 2, but then you won't have them in Octo 1, which might spoil it a bit ("might spoil it a bit" =/= "will not enjoy")
Anyone with half a brain should understand what I am saying, sorry you are not capable of doing so.
Such a dumb take
Of course the game doesn't 'suffer' from the design choice they made in the first place. It's not meant to be a single storyline game, so it's not going to follow the same formula as those.
