Best method to grind for leaves?
I know money is hardly an issue in this game, but considering I will eventually have to do Partitio's Scent of Commerce quests (including the one that requires 100,000 leaves for a ship), is there a method I can grind for money? Like which enemies should I always use the Collect skill on?

Easy tip, but you will need 1280 leaves to begin. Take Partitio to the Crackridge Anchorage just north of Oresrush, and east of Cropdale on the map (chapter 1 area, so it's easy), and change the time to night while on the docks. There will be an NPC outside the shack on the right just named "Commoner" - hire him for the 1280 leaves. He gives a guaranteed 25% additional money from all sales, and is thus far the cheapest follower I've found that can give a guaranteed 1/4 bonus (some may give more, but they'll have a range like 5-40% and are less reliable).

Now, go from town to town stealing/mugging everything you can, selling all the treasures and old weapons/armor that have no more use for your party while Partitio is in your party with this follower! That 25% boost will add up very quickly, and you should have no problem doing the commerce sidequests (and unlocking all 3 Merchant licenses, which takes 400,000 total leaves).

There are some other NPCs that have the 25% sales boost, but all of them are more expensive. The tradeoff with the Commoner is that, since he's cheap, he's worthless as a combat summon. On the plus side, he's so cheap that you can easily hire someone else to make purchases from the shop, then go get him back whenever you are ready to sell off a ton of things (or vice versa, save up your sales, then drop him for a better summon, but doing that too much will cut into your profits).

Octopuff farm on water with all the octopuff baits you have (i've got 3 for the moment). King octopuff gives you 50k gold, the others 1500 that is not worth but all of them give you a nut for 5% chance that is great.

If you don't have baits, the better way to get money is stealing (all the pathes havin same effect for switch day/night) to get sellable items, with partitio and the npc with the best selling bonus you can have. I've fond one in the starting city of partitio.

For the moment i have 600k+ leaves, the boat and i've spent lot of money in weapons.

Collect skill is good only on the bosses (chapter3 15k, chapter4 40-60k leaves).

Thanks. I will try this as soon as I beat Castti’s Chapter 2 Winterbloom Route boss. I got wrecked the first time, but in my reload, I equipped my Ochette, Castti, and Temenos with some better armor and also gave Temenos the Conjurer’s Staff which I didn’t want to use at first since it increases one’s stats by quite a lot. Didn’t want to feel too OP.

When it gives you 10k leaves it's good but most of the time it's 1000

There is not much point in having a ship prior to level 30 as the ocean is a tier 2 danger zone. You will easily accumulate 100,000+ leaves by then.

Shortly after I made the post I actually went ahead and did a whole lot of side stories I put off and then bought the ship. My protagonist is nearly level 30 anyway.

once you get to the point where you can safely farm on higher danger zone, you will have better option like,
make a team consist of 1x Dancer+Inventor, and 3x Merchant.
Stack as much Leaves Boosting stuff as you can, increase as much encounter as you can.
Go to a higher level area with monster that have lots of HP.
All 3 Merchant just Spam Bifelgan's Bounty the Damage you dealt = Leaves.
Dancer Inventor use latent power Arkar Coil to gain back BP for whole team, then Bifelgan's Bounty again.
With the right setup each battle is around 2-3min and you earn around 15k~20k Leaves from Bifelgan's Bounty alone.

p.s with the same setup and you are rich, you can cheese quite some battle as well with hired help, Veteran Soldier or Foreign assassin Spam
