unfortunately very time consuming for me
The VA's speak SOOOO slowly, like so many dialogue text that pops up, im done reading before the VA's even start to speak because they are doing weird "emotional" sounds (sighing etc), its like they're trying too hard and its annoying.
The japanese for the most part speak faster, and i think it sounds better. Ochette + Mahina are especially good, and Partitio + Inventor + Catapult is hard to beat.
I wish the english was better/faster since I could just leave it on auto play and enjoy it that was, but i just cant.
I think I did this with OT 1 too I like playing games like that more.
My favorite JRPG is Dragon Qest and I really liked the 9th part it had no voices and so I imagined my own voices
Settings - Sound - Voices. It's very kind of the devs to include this option and I'm really grateful for it!
Overall sometimes it looks like English VAs received only script with text and recorded their voices in studio while Japanese VAs sound like they had a chance to test game during production stage (or received the copy of game before actual recording) and look into situation in order to convey appropriate feelings to the scene.
Safe travels~
