Japanese voice actors
Partitio (Kazuya Nakai) = Zoro from One Piece, Wakka from Final Fantasy X, etc...

Temenos (Akira Ishida) = Gaara from Naruto, etc...

Agnea (Inori Minase) = A bunch of cute generic anime girls from generic animes

Throne (Rie Tanaka) = Elinalise from Mushoku Tensei and other generic sexy women

Castti (Michiko Neya) = Todoroki mother from Boku no Hero, Arachne from Soul Eater, Riza Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist, etc...

Ochette (Aya Hirano) = Lucy from Fairy Tail, Dende from Dragon Ball Z, Suzumiya Haruhi from Suzumiya Haruhi, Misa Amane from Death Note, etc...

Osvald (Joji Nakata) = Kirei from Fate Stay Night (the priest), Alucard from Hellsing, Baki from Naruto, Rossiu from Gurren Lagann, etc...

Hikari (Youji Matsuda) = Ashitaka from Princess Mononoke

I thought Osvald voice actor was the same as All for One from Boku no Hero, that deep voice made me remember him

But the most interesting one is Hikari voice actor, Youji Matsuda, he did the main character in Princess Mononoke but after that only did a couple of characters in anime and movies, he never did voice acting for a game in his entire life, he voiced Leonardo Di Caprio in Titanic and he probably spent 90% of his career doing only theatre

His way of speaking with Hikari is not anime-like, is a more realistic way of speaking japanese, i really liked that, it gives this more authentic feel of Hikari really being a medieval japanese warrior

It reminds me of old anime and movies like Akira, where they used a more realistic way of speaking instead of the modern more "clean" and "perfect" pronunciation and enunciation of words

Man, so Hikari is Ashikata?

Man, what a nostalgia, that's why I feel a strange familiarity with his voice!
And yeah, play japanese voices in a japanese game, guise!

If you dont understand japanese, you'd miss on party/boss banter during combat by playing with japanese voice

True, but I don't really think you're missing much at all by doing so

You're missing lines like "Thinking time!" and "Yeehaw!" happening over and over and over and over and over and over

You see, he says thinking time because he's a scholar - and another says yeehaw because southern accent means yeehaw

I think I'm good without having that stuff repeated every two seconds in battles tbph, it's why I prefer the Japanese voice actors aside from just enjoying how they sound much more (not that I think the Japanese voice over can't possibly be saying anything goofy either, if not literally the same thing - it's just a matter of being able to speak english that makes it much more grating to hear lines like those repeated as often as they are)

I mean most of those banter are generic lines we all already heard a thousand times watching anime shows, so most of us already know what they mean even if we don't know how to speak japanese

naruhodo = i see (i understand)
ikuzo = let's go
nani? = what?

etc...

all in all JP voice have 100x more emotion
