Eventually you'll start to get enough space to work with. I created a kind of crafting area with storage crates and the things which let you modify drop rates. I had a whole system for storing stuff.
Mid game I used to make a lot of burgers, sandwiches and fruit to sell at the market stalls. I had a whole system for generating and storing ingredients and I made a heap of coins that way. It's also a good way to generate 'filler blocks' - foundation blocks that you use to raise the ground level, that you don't actually see because only the top, visible block matters. I needed a lot of them. Eventually it became unnecessary, but I spent quite a few days doing that.
Late game I just created the nopinator and I could completely control what items I get from coins... and a field of vending machines... and there are other ways to get a ton of stuff and manipulate the number of items you have. I feel like this is kinda spoiler territory. As I was doing that I systematically broke down my storage system and now I just make the whatever thing I need. The only permanent storage I use are the teleporting boxes and large stacks of foundation blocks which I just keep out in the open.
I guess if you've read this far, the main thing I'd say is keep at least one of everything. It makes it much easier later-on to control what you get.
or, you know, you can just have fun with it. You can't do anything to break the game. The only limitation is how much time you want to spend clicking for coins.
I've been playing another other idle clicker game. You reminded me of this game. Maybe I should return to playing this instead.
I also would advise stocking up on items during early to mid game unless you know you won't want them, especially foundation/ground tiles for storing things or building your garden. Banks can be useful if you want items from a specific set. In early game, stack things that can stack to maximize your usable area, at least until you have more land to spread things out the way you want. Early to mid game, storage containers are very helpful for holding things you want to save for later while you don't have land to place everything on and have a work space.
