I imagine we'd be getting a lot more preview material if it's releasing in 2024.

It has been over 2.5 years since I've added this game to my Steam wishlist, and a year since last update posted on game's Steam page.

Zero communication from developer over this period of time is rarely a good sign.

Apologies for late reply, life has been pretty busy lately. We post a lot more on our Discord in regards to updates but I'll quote one of our developers latest reply:

"we know we’ve been radio silent for a long time
honestly it’s not lost on us, people are removing Nazralath from their wishlists so we can sense that there’s a sentiment around it
but it’s not random, we’re hard at work to a degree which makes us stupidly focused on the game itself and nothing else
some very very cool things have been happening, and we want to share everything with you
we need to settle in now though, from a very transformative period both for each of us individually and for the studio as well
"

Okay, lots of hard work is happening behind the scenes, but there are small dev teams (2-10 people) that manage to communicate *daily* on the steam forums and discord while developing their game at a pace that puts most AAA studios to shame. There's just no real, reasonable excuse for radio silence; it clearly communicates that you don't care enough to spend a few hours a month to let your potential customers know what's going on with the game. I don't think some devs realize just how bad radio silence looks in this day and age in the context of their peers who take community engagement seriously through regular communication. It looks really, really bad, and makes you appear untrustworthy. If you can't write a devlog every month or two, why would people assume any work is getting done at all. There are solo indie devs that put out detailed video devlogs on their progress several times a year while working a full time day job and developing their game at night and on weekends. Against that backdrop within the industry and especially here on Steam, radio silence is just embarrassing to witness. You are sabotaging your game and all the hard work of everyone developing it.

The majority of the studio has dayjobs (I study fulltime) and work hard daily during their freetime. We're well aware we've been silent, we've been prioritising our Discord server where we're active every day answer questions about the game. Devlogs will be uploaded more regularly and we have a good plan going forward on how to communicate better.

That's great to hear. I wish you all the best and hope that your game is successful.
Don’t let the impatient ones get to you guys, it takes time to make a good game and with as few numbers as you have on team along with actual lives and responsibilities past game development it’s natural for it to take time, some people are just not capable of grasping the concept of a small development team, continue to do the amazing work I’m seeing you have been doing, I personally look forward to this project, it’s atmosphere and world design are what I’m about and exited to see the end product 💯💯💯

Thanks! We're not letting anyone get to us, don't worry about it. :) We know in our heart of hearts that no good product ever came from rushing. We're building this at a pace that's perfect for us, and we're looking forward to sharing the fruits of our work with like-minded people, as well as converting those willing to bet on us.
