Have you found the Boss?
My main metal and leather production base is on copper island. I put some basic workbench and tanners workbench just to mantain weapons and build docks on other islands. But here place feels empty. Or spacious. Hope is big and filled tightly with exploration and mountain passages. You build up on Hope and Copper heavily.
I am saving up ore and stockpiling ammo for the snake boss fight. Full vein for 20 rounds does not look reasonable. As if we were making cannon balls.
Need something story line tech tree driven to build a base on silver too. I wanted a base on Sulfur island but that place doesn't look safe. I could start with a new house and garden but not sure where I want to place it.
Main goals on it extract silver and iron ores. Explore the plot line. Get rabbits hide for huntsmans suit. Pick up flax. Have fun hunting. Loot for stormbreaker upgrade. Boss fight seems to be optional.
Just don't know what to put in the base on Silver besides tannery and garden. Everything seems to be covered before and elsewhere. Maybe need some deer hide suit side quest.
Yes the bridge to silver mine. Also it's not really much of a shortcut, still a long run. Bullets are crafted with 1 iron ingot + 1 gunpowder = 5 bullets. I thought 1 ingot was a but much for only 5 bullets should be at least 10 bullets, so my formula would have been 1 iron ingot + 3 gunpowder = 10 bullets. They either didn't think about it much or don't have a good sense of resources and proportion.
I also built heavily on Hope and Copper. I have a good sized dock house on Silver but only a tanning bench. Small list of resources there so no need for crafting benches. Silver seems a little empty and incomplete. Also it's always dark and raining, water collectors are always full. So not someplace I spend a lot of time just very annoying to wait three or four days before you can even see anything. Hope and Copper are the best islands to build a base on in my opinion.
If an island is inhospitable, the only building I do is a dock house. Basically a small house extending from and over the dock with basic sleeping campfire, storage. I don't move inland.
Yes Sulfur Island was probably the most action packed. Quite the time there. Actually made me retreat and have to think of strategy. But there again always dark and raining. They need to lighten up on the constant darkness and raining it makes it barely playable.
You are going to die a few times on the snake boss. You are playing VH that's going to hit your max health really hard. Hope you have a lot of Water of Life potions. I would use everything you have to help you there is no such thing as "ah I don't really need that". You will.
Dock house sounds intresting, might want to get one soon.
I think they designed Hope and Copper around crafting. While Silver, Foggy, and Craggy (Rocky) Island are for exploration mostly. Want crafting to be a part of Silver Island too.
Also want farming to be essential part of gameplay. Maybe we get to farm some crops, to make bread. Maybe we need to farm to get better ropes and sails for the ship, presumably hemp.
In Fallout 4 farming was essential as it produced the glue, your basic weapons and armor upgrade resource. Please give us some essential resource that needs to be grown of farms and is a part of gameplay mechanics, not just for food. So far we get to grow essential flax for linen, daisys and gibiscus for healing, this sage flower never used actually, because anti malaria mask gives 100% protection and lasts much longer than you need it. Liana rope is good to grow on farms, coffe and berries. But none of them are essential, they are for healing. Perhaps need anti poison herbal solution other than animals. Also aloe is very much needed. Aloe is the most potent herb of all.
Make farming be involved with tech tree. I suggest hemp as a resource to grow and expand on.
I farm everything but the useful items are Ocotillo (sticks) I have 8 planters they keep me supplied with basic fuel for everything. I also farm flax for linen, bamboo for palm juice collectors (I make a lot of those since you can put more than one on a date palm and quite a few of them scattered around Hope, Copper, Red, Windy and some other places), also berries for Berry Compote which is more of a convenient power drink, the others are for medicines and some not useful but I grow them just to have them and try and collect seeds if they ever become useful. Currently no use for pumpkins and tomatoes, not even basic soup. I agree we should be able to farm (find seeds) anything that can be harvested out in the wild. Farming is incomplete for sure.
I spent more hours than I care to admit playing Fallout 4, great game but of course I love base building.
Had a look at Winter Survival seems like a good game and very intense on the survival part. Again it's early access so there's likely a lot of things not added yet and imbalance think I will hold off on that one until it's full release. It's frustrating for me when it's a game I really like but there's unfinished work as I can say quickly what is missing and what is needed. Sometimes they get it sometimes they don't. If they don't oh well, it's their game and it stays where it is.
I picked up Enshrouded and have been playing around in that a little. Very different kind of game but it has crafting and base building which seem highly intense and detailed. Might be awhile before I get farther into it.
Also I had played Salt 2 Shores of Gold prior to this one and it was also early access. Played many hours and finished the quests, main story line, all ships and decorations. They just released their final update with Act 3 of the main quest a few days ago so I've been playing around a little getting my bearings again. It's not as realistic, a little cartoonish but when I got past that it was good fun.
Currently entertaining myself with Winter survival endless mode, bug hunting and forums suggestions.
Want Green Hell so much, but no luck there.
If you want a sneak peak at final chapter go to game store page, last entry by devs contains footage of last region. It's been there a long time even in early builds.
It's tied to the story. Nothing you haven't heard of. Main picture has it too.
Forums are a good place to be. Also youtube playthroughs and streams give you another vision of the same game. It is adventurous and goes through another person's prism.
Thanks for all your tips, find them helpfull.
Think devs are on tight schedule now for Q2. Not sure if i got on time to suggest new stuff. Maybe they will offer addons by Q3-Q4.
Unity so much more polished now than Unreal from Winter Survival team. This game is almost complete. And I beat it twice... and watched streams even more... was a hard waiting time since 2023.
Tell me, please, which page should I go to? Where exactly to watch? Can you share the link? Because, unfortunately, from your explanations, it is not very clear where to look.
This page.
Scroll below. About this Game. Discord. There is an article with flash animations by devs. Click expansion button arrows, see last video entry. It contains footage of last island. This place is on main picture of the game. You see outside and inside... not much details, but you get the clue where last challenge will take us. Indian civilisation. Indian chronicles promised some sort of trial to see if you are worthy of living water.
I saw the general map, there is bimini belt, lot's of rocks, one small island and after bimini belt you get to this final place.
What do indians build to worship gods?
I also saw the map in one of the videos. But apart from the first two regions, it is irrelevant. Regions 3 and 4 have been completely redesigned. So relying on these shots is probably not very correct.
