Repair kits for tools & weapons

My problem is, it is simply not worth craftin weapons & tools of some materials like copper or obsidian. In my playstyle I need all copper for buildings / workbenches etc.
Instead of using the specific material for repairing those weapons / tools, i would like to see a repair kit witch can be build with stone / osbsidian / copper & iron (an some more materials) and have charges for repairing.
For example: a stone repair kit needs a big rock, sticks, a rope and leafes and have one charge to repair any weapon or tool no matter what material is used for crafting that weapon / tool. An Obsidian repair kit needs obsidian, bones, a rope and leafes and have 2 charges and so on.

This would negate the "must have" of any specific material an give options if you run out of them.

Copper should be very easily recyclable. Disassembling a copper tool or weapon should give the copper back, which should alleviate some of that resource strain.

You can do quite well with Stone and Obsidian tools. I used them for a very long time for the same reasons, I didn't want to waste copper ingots on tools. Stone and Obsidian is easy to find a lot of it even on the starting island. Later in the game if you work at it you will have plenty of copper and iron to make things with. I just carried two of each with me, one as backup in case the other wore out while I was away from camp.

Tellin me to recraft things instead of repairing doesn´t fit the point. Why do we have the option to repair if crafting a new item is so much more worth?

If you have a repair kit you can repair those things without having the problem of running out of materials which can be an option instead of recrafting.
At this point the devs can remove the repair option without affecting the game too much.

The only things that´s worth repairing are armour and the ship because it takes forever until they break again.

Hope is your best time in game. So much to do there. Then Copper is the real stress test. After that later Islands feel too easy and don't have long term crafting goals.

Try obsidian knife, it's quite good.

Stone pick axe is too good.

Stone hammer your best friend.

I just made iron axe and iron saw.

Wish there is reason for iron saw over stone saw. So it could craft advanced wood.

How do you cut iron wood with stone saw, don't want to try that. I had problem with modern age saw vs stump. That same stump killed my chainsaw.
