Lag and freezing

Can I get some advice on what is with this game being so full of lag its unplayable on my computer. I have had no issues with Sims 3, green hell, long dark, assassins creed odyssey, 7 days to die, etc. Most of which are not small games but this game will not work properly no matter how high or low frame rate is selected. Tried adjusting all settings and decreasing graphics settings to lowest and still not working.
Is it the game? Is there something I can do that might fix it?

I have the same issue. Had to crank my GPU fans to upper 80% to help. I have a Desktop with Water cooled cpu, ASUS ROG Strix I7 -11700F, 32 GB ram & RTX3080 10GB GDDR6X there should be no reason for my system to not handle this game on Ultra but I run it dumbed down to help the frame freezing.

Well there is a real good reason the game has issues. IT IS IN EARLY ACCESS.

They are still adding the base content to the game. The performance of the game is always one of the last things to be addressed in development. They will get it done in time, but if you are buying into EA games you need to expect things to be broken and not work to there full potential.

I had the exact same problem, appears to be a high core cpu issue(i9-13900), go into task manager, details tab, right click on process, set affinity, and I turned off all but core 1-12, it now works perfectly and 120-130 fps with a gtx3080 everything on high. Might try a few more cores next time but works.

I hope you know there is a problem with 13 and 14 generation Intel CPU's.

(in cases of 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs instability happens even with factory settings). Downclocking usually fixes it.

And you shouldn't expect people to invest into EA game if they can barely play it, cuz a lot of people aren't eager to spend money on bad experience.

2) Post #4 which you say you were replying to was made on Feb 17 @ 4:06pm by me in reply to post # 3 from Hammersmith, Feb 16 @ 11:40pm about him saying he has the same problem as OP.

3) My post was telling Hammersmith about the faulty Intel 13th and 14th Generation CPU's. The problem seems to only apply to I7 and I9 CPU's. Hammersmith has a I9-13900
linked to a nVidia gtx3080 GPU. I think he means a RTX 3080 as I don't think nVidia made a GTX3080. Intel admits that the problem is more capable of causing a CPU fatality when coupled with a nVidia.

4) I'm running a laptop with a 11 generation I7-11800H @ 2.30GHz coupled with a 6GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU. I don't have any problems running Survival FoY.

So, my suggestion to you is make sure you have the facts straight before you start name calling.

And btw, there's enough people with AMD 5xxx and 6xxx cpus having the same issues, with decent builds (16+ gb RAM, 8gb+ VRAM, etc).

When a game is working normally on "some" setups like yours, and not on plenty of other different configurations, that exactly means a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ optimization. You need just 2 brain cells to understand that.
