How to kill the jackal on Craggy Island?

What’s the best strategy to kill the black jackal boss? I’ve died like 3 times now.

Puma potion helps alot. Copper spear charged attack to counter his attack. Leather armor with copper plates helps too.

I just killed it with an osidian axe (forgot to bring the spear, haha). and normal leather clothes. It's easy to dodge (this is the key) and counter and I used 1 buffalo potion.

Puma potion first. Then charged spear for the first two thirds of the fight. After that you might need to use block depending on how the waves come at you.

Don't back out of the arena too far or the fight will reset (happened to me when boss was on 25% hp :(). I did use the path into the arena as a bottleneck to only allow the waves to come at me from one direction.

I've played several hours dying because I didn't remember this (because the tutorial teaches you), until I've learned... and then, everything is easy... again Jackal boss is easy if you block/dodge properly. And I did it with an odsidian axe in my 1st try (normal dif.), if you have a saber ou copper spear it's easier.

charged blocking strike w/ iron spear is how I did it.

waves come 1 at a time. hit first 1 first, etc.

now that the sabre is out, I imagine the fight is even easier.

I waited until I had an iron crossbow and the iron saber. I also popped a puma potion before the battle.
