Artifacts (8/9)

This lists some items as "artifacts".

I supposedly have found 8/9. I'm wondering what constitutes an artifact? I had assume it was things like:

Columbus' spyglass, marine binoculars, sextant, magnifying glass, Cortes' compass...

But these only account for 5. I have 8 and am searching for the 9th. I'm wondering if it is even in the game, or if I got it & it was not recorded...

UPDATE:

"Artifacts 8/9" listed on Event Log Statistics page seem to pertain to living water, buffalo potions, puma potions, etc. Therefore, I think I have 8/9 because I have not found a bird potion yet. Will attempt to craft one with new game/character and see.

You can sort the journal by type. Things in the Artifact type would be the items you listed plus the recipes found in the game.

Its early access, by definition its half finished and bug ridden. What did you think early access was? The dev is active on here regularly, just delivered a big update with at least 2 more on the way. What are you expecting?

Thanks for the quick response. I did that, and came up earlier with all the journals. Only problem is, if I include the journals, I have way too many artifacts, so I don't think they count towards the "Artifacts 8/9" listed in my "Event Log/Statistics" page.

I'm expecting this game to be sold to a crap studio that will either never finish it or turn it into a cash cow like the last Early Access game I paid for.
I tried early access on several games over the years and 1% have made it to completion with somewhat satisfactory results.

UPDATE 1

UPDATE 2
I found the bird potion (again) with a new game by the observatory, so that is not the potion I am missing. On a side note, the bird potion should really look like other potions in the game.

I think the last potion is an item not in the game yet... unless anyone has Artifacts 9/9 on the Stats page of the Journal?

Captain's Map

For Living Water, Set of Tools, and Piece of Natives Map, you need to find just one for it to count.

Captain's Map....that's part of the last region, right?

I'm wondering that myself. I definitely found the map near the lt. camp on Copper Isle.

I'm hoping it wasn't in the burning ship you escape from & I missed it this time because I skipped the intro!

Yes, it will be in the fifth region, it's not available to collect right now. Although technically it is in the prologue, so it counts in this total number.

No, you'll get it. When the time comes!
