How to unlock fast travel

I am on the Island of Hope. I need to unlock fast travel so I can get to the next region, but I'm not sure how, except that I need to unlock one of two ships. Any help would be appreciated.

Great Question — This may help..

1) TAKE YOUR TIME — With more than 400 in-game Blueprints to discover & activate, you need to take your time! — Go to your Crafting Menu and click-on the 'Eye' (next to the search bar), to Show/Hide Locked Blueprints — Note: this game adheres to a strict, somewhat BUGGY, secret, Crafting & Exploration Tree, that you do not have full access to! — Best advice is to follow the game's initial Tutorial, after that its kind of a guessing game as to what you can do, and what you should do, next!

2) BUILD YOUR HOME BASE — Build your home base on the Island of Hope, including a Dock — Ensure that you have enough Resources, Tools, Food, Water, Medicine, etc.., to survive & build in a new environment before traveling — Depending on the complexity or creativity of your home base, this could take (2) in-game weeks or more.

Pay special attention to the part that says you have to be at the helm of a boat in order to fast travel.

Fast travel is made between docks built in different regions.

First build a dock on the Island of Hope.

Secondly you must unlock a region via story, map pieces, or new vessel. After that you just helm a ship and hit sail and away you go.

Next when you get to the new region place a "dock" at the location of your choosing.

This will allow you to see dock icons on the map "sailing" map. Click on them and fast travel away.

Cool, just watched your favorite five bases video and your house on this video is where I was moving resources to build before I watched it. I think I will build my first base there after all. Love all your videos so far. Keep up the good work.
