I stopped playing because of spiders

I loved this game & had so much fun playing. I started over a couple of times after I got the hang of things. The scorpions crawling on you freaked me out enough but since spiders have been added I can't bare to even launch the game. It may be silly to some but I have a great phobia of things crawling on me. I hope someday they add an option to turn these things off.

You can pretty easily avoid the snakes, spiders and scorpions by going around them or just shooting them with the spear, bow or crossbow. If you put your points into concentration, you can see them highlighted in red so they don't sneak attack you. There are also settings when you first start the game to adjust the number of animals and their respawn rate. It can't be changed without starting a new game.

Thank you for the reply. Even looking at those things freak me out. I can't play any games that have them in them.

If you are fine with not following the story completely and not getting all resources, you can ignore islands with spiders. They are not in each region and not on each island and often only in certain areas of those islands. The Aloe and Bark Ointment gives temporary protection from pests and the Algae Ointment scares away pests. You can use those when you need to go to an area with spiders and to get something you need and to follow the story.

The spiders on Copper Island are a nuisance. They spawn randomly while you are working and crawl on your hand fairly often. As mentioned there are medicines you can make which scare them away but the ingredients for them are a pain to collect so I never could make much of it. I found the best pest deterent is to have a lit torch. You don't have to be carrying it, it just has to be lit and in one of your active slots. Then you can switch to anything else you want in hand, the torch will stay lit, and the pests will run away and not bother you. The only downside to this is you have to use up one of your active belt slots and the noise from the flame can get annoying after awhile as well as the light from the torch in bright areas makes it too bright sometimes. Overall I wish they would reduce the noise on all flames to a whisper, I think they are much too loud.

You can, you just choose not to. Shame you let fears control you when you do not have to. It only makes the fears stronger. No one grows without stepping out of their comfort zone.

It's pixels. If you can't handle this stuff, I suggest you stay away from horror and survival type games. it's like going on a ship game and complaining that there is no option to turn open waters off

Well don't get so close to them, they dont appear out of thin air. If you look, you could actually see that they were on the ground.

Don´t worry, I won´t get to close to them anymore. I have already uninstalled the game.

If you want to be healthy, use this as a chance to overcome your fear. Not even being able to look at them is not a good sign and is something you should address within yourself.
