How many cartographer trees on Hope Island?

I have a task to map 5 cartographer trees. I tried to find a map of Hope Island that showed the location of them but haven't found one yet. I have found 3 so far. I think I have explored the entire island but I have one area on the west side of the map that isn't complete. I just ran around there and didn't see a cartographer tree. Are there only 3 on the island?

There are 5, including the one on the starter island.

One in the top middle,
3 in the center in a horizontal line
and one in the bottom left on the starter island.

I have 5 cartographer trees mapped as you can see in the screen shot. It says I only have 4/5. Why?

I just sailed around the entire island and there are no more cartographer trees. How do I complete the task to map 5 cartographer trees when I have already done it and it only shows 4/5?

It's always completed for me, one time I was on 4 out of 5 too and realised I'd missed the one on the tutorial island. Maybe just remap from all of them again just to be sure? If you created a map from the top of the mountain it will mark the locations of the cartographer trees even if you havent mapped from the trees themselves yet.

Just further to this, the task is to map from all five trees, meaning you need to tie a rope to, climb to the top of and then create a map from each tree individually.

This. The quest is to map FROM the cartographer's trees.

Yeah, I discovered that if you map from one of the mountains it'll discover and mark the cartographer tree on your map but you need to actually climb it and map from it for the quest.

Just because it's on your map doesn't mean that you've climbed it. Check them all for a rope, and then maybe go a step further and remap from them to make sure if need be.

I was exactly here at 4/5 also. Map all filled out but still 4/5. Started checking trees and one did not have a rope.

Looking at the tree icon it has 2 small icons on it. A book and a nest. Any chance when you have mapped from it the book could change slightly? Like have it start as an outline and fill in fully when you have mapped there? Or a treasure map or similar map like icon added to it?

I was exactly here at 4/5 also. Map all filled out but still 4/5. Started checking trees and one did not have a rope.

This is my issue. I thought they only turned white on the map when you had mapped from them. Now I have to run around and find out which one doesn't have a ladder. Thanks everyone.
