How to access crows nest on the Ark
So I just got The ark and I am trying to find out how to access the crows nest for mapping the last area and I cant figure out how to do it. So far I tried to climb all 4 sides of both masts and the rope ladders on the sides of the boat. Masts dont seem to be climbable and the rope ladders are too high/inaccessible.
What am Imissing?

Hey!

Masts on the Ark ship are not climbable.
This feature is only for the schooner.

I even walked straight off the cart ramp into the water, believing it would hit the the stone dock... For my excuse: it was night and raining lol and was soaked anyways.
Thank you for the point, themany?

Yes, I find it brave to confess doing so )

Maybe we can get ark crows nest as feature wish list item?

Well that's a bummer you can't map from the Ark mast.
CrazyMom May 22, 2024 @ 9:08am
At this point in the game one should have already a great mapping radius unlocked in the skill department and the height of the bow section might help a lot as well. Have not left Silver and will have to check it out.
@themany: You have to be able to laugh at yourself for doing silly things :steamhappy:

Should we start feature wishlist thread?

Wait what? You didn't add this? Why have all the rings around the masts then?
Why have the double rope sided looking ladders on all sides?

Why would i bring the schooner to the new area? The Ark fits my entire base, there is literally no point in using any of the other ships.

Please add the ability to map from the Ark. Because now it is very illogical.

Speaking about the Ark, does anyone have a problem with it taking damage when you start or stop sailing, for no reason?

It doesn't need to be "climable". Why not make the rope ladder on the side going up to the mast interactive, target it press E and it teleports you up to the crows nest already up there but you are locked in place, can turn and look around but cant fall off or jump off. Then just click the rope ladder again to teleport back down to the deck where you started. So simple and easy to do. Why would they not have done this? It was kind of a no brainer for me.

Yes all the time and it feels like it's dragging on something even when it's in deep water. Very uncomfortable feeling. Also it seems like it's much slower than the schooner, I thought it was the size but it's definitely much slower.

Yeah what's up with the damage, at first I thought I was running into rocks every time I started to sail, or stopped sailing. And a couple of times I thought I was stuck on something because it seemed like it wasn't moving at all, if feels like you're trying to sail a container ship, it's really clunky.
