Thanks for sharing. We may tweak some timings in the future.
Ok, torches light torches up, need to wear 2 of them at once, then torches light up crafting stations, but can we light up the torch from a station.
Problem with Torches they do not increase your Fire Starting skill, neither does the Smoldering Charcoal Bag. Probably because both have a 100% chance of ignition. I made the mistake of using the Charcoal Bag for a long time before I realized that.
Intresting point, does it mean longer it takes to light something up, more skill points you get? When i used wooden sticks I got that skill level improved message very often.
Cutting down tree with iron axe and max skill takes less time (~15 mins or so) than igniting torch on late game :P
My whole point was their times are way too long. They are basing those times on using only the most primitive of materials on the worst conditions, even than a base time of 1 hour is much too long. The more advanced fire starters in the game would never take that long it would work in a few minutes to seconds in reality. For example you throw some spark on an oiled torch it's going to flame up immediately not take 30 minutes or even 10 minutes. When you start adding these times up lighting several lamps you have just spent the entire night lighting lamps and it's morning.
And what really makes no sense is the fire starters do not effect the time at all and neither does skill, just tinder. All three would very much effect the time needed. The fire starter should have a base time, then your skill would reduce that time and tinder would reduce it even further.
It really needs some work.
Agreed on the torches topic.
